My mother comes to visit soon. (and NO..that is NOT her above!!!) My Mum arrives on Thursday. I had told her that March could be a bit of a funny month, weatherwise, with the change over of seasons beginning to start. I told her to be ready for a bit of ice and sugar-snow (where the snow hardens with a crust on the outside but has lost density within - causing one to go through it with ease as you lay foot pressure on it!)

Last week however we had ooodles of snow. At least two nights on the trot, we had about 12 inches of snow. Having cleared the front of the house on Tuesday night, on Wednesday morning, the car had to be dug out again! Normally this sort of weather is the claim of February.

On February 2nd, (Groundhog Day in America) Punxsutawney Phil of Gobblers Knob, Pennsylvania Seer of Seers, Prognosticator of all Prognosticators, saw his shadow and therefore predicted six more weeks of winter! Oh no!! I thought... maybe he was wrong..and anyway, surely that is just for the USA? It would seem that he was right though - and for Finland too perhaps! :D (YES that IS him shown above...LOL!)

Today, the weather has been manic. First of all, there was RAIN! (Haven't seen that phenomenon for months!) then HAILSTONES - biguns too! Then snow, then a snowstorm! Now, the skies are clear and glorious sunshine and -2!

Here is a video of the snowstorm! Entitled SPRING!
